Sanford Sardo

Music Faculty-

Sanford Sardo has taught at Center Stage Dance and Creative Arts since 2004.

Mr. Sardo has been the Director of Choral Activities of the Calhoun High School Choral Program, in Merrick, since 1993. His choirs have performed at Walt Disney World, at Madison Square Garden, in concert with Kenny Rogers, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and throughout the US East Coast. His internationally-recognized show choir, "Crescendo", the 8-Time "Music In the Parks" Champions and 2007 "Festival Disney" National Champions, has been the featured guests on two television programs, and in a Newsday article.

He received his BA in Vocal Performance from the State University of New York @ Stony Brook. He received his MEd in Music Education from theAaron Copland School of Music @ Queens College. He is certified in both Orff Level I and Music Technology from Hofstra University.

Sanford was listed in Who's Who in America in 2002 and 2003, and he has been listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers on seven occasions. He was named Educator of the Week in April 2004 by WLNY/ TV 55. He was named Music Educator of the Year by the Long Island Musicians Association in 1995.

Sanford has been honored by the Nassau County Legislature, the Town of Hempstead, the Merrick Kiwanis, the Merrick Chamber of Commerce, and the Bellmore-Merrick Council of PTAs for his passion of shaping young minds and his contributions to the Bellmore-Merrick Community.

Away from Calhoun H.S., Sanford is the Assistant Director of the Lindenhurst HS Marching Band.  He is also a theatrical lighting designer and sound designer who has over 100 Off-Broadway, Regional, and Educational Theatre credits to his name.
